Americans were the first to understand that high-quality advertising is worth investments. In 1917 the Lee Company used a baseball star Ruth for their first advertising campaign - he wore their custom jeans everywhere and received good profits for it. But that was just the beginning of the jeans advertising history.

After the World War II the largest American jeans producing companies which were of course Levi's, Lee and Wrangler invested enormous amounts of money in advertising. The result was the rapid growth of the product popularity.

The next jeans advertising shake-up took place in the late 1970s as customized designer jeans were launched out. That was when the famous provocative Calvin Klein jeans promo appeared. In this promo 15 year-old Brooke Shields said: "You wanna know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing!" The great scandal which burst out after the promo had appeared increased the profits and the popularity of the CK Company to a great extent. But the best jeans advertising is considered to be the one called "The Laundrette". This promo was created for Levi's by the BBH Company (the UK) in 1986. Nick Cayman who was Madonna's boyfriend of that time starred in that promo.
